Post-quantum security, intrusion detection, malware analysis, blockchain security, privacy, and security for IoT and autonomous systems.
BASMIR Lab
A research lab founded by Dr. Fakhri Alam Khan, focused on trustworthy biomedical intelligence, medical imaging, and secure digital systems.
About
I serve as an Associate Professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) (QS-rank: 63, worldwide) and lead the BASMIR Lab research group. My work combines rigorous computing research with practical problems in healthcare, secure infrastructure, cloud systems, and data-driven decision-making.
My academic path includes a Ph.D. with distinction from the University of Vienna, postdoctoral research in Austria and Korea, an MSc from the Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, and academic leadership across teaching, program development, supervision, and funded research.
